Lisa was already in love with dance when she first popped into a yoga class back in 1999. She thought it would serve as a useful adjunct to the movement that she was passionate about. She was totally mystified by the intense experience she had there in the early days of Baron Baptiste's Institute in Cambridge. It was physical, it was definitely spiritual and there was a powerful feeling of community that kept her coming back again and again. It became her church and before long she was rearranging her schedule and life to be on her mat. Her commitment landed her a job at Baron's Cambridge studio and then the two studios that followed, with a hand in all aspects of the business' goings-on as well as Baron's events and trainings. She completed her first Teacher Trainings with Baron and then continued on to complete two additional Teacher Training modules with Shiva Rea. She has been fortunate enough to learn from some other amazing and inspiring guides like Ana Forrest and locally, Tom Alden, Nicoline Valkenberg and Bo Forbes.

She lives in Bedford with her husband and studio cofounder, Bo, and their two children- Phoenix and Nova. She dreamt up Yoga Nova out of the desire to create a strong sense of community again, a place where all are welcomed to be themselves in whatever state they are. She's honored to have the opportunity to create a space that may serve others in the profound ways she has experienced by being a student of yoga herself.

Bo first came to yoga in 2003 seeking relief from back, shoulder and elbow pain as a result of many years of rigorous practice and performance as a professional drummer. Being a general fitness enthusiast and life long surfer and skater, the yoga thing kept on popping up everywhere he found himself -touring, traveling, surfing and exploring. Soon he was maintaining a consistent practice. Being a guy who also likes Crossfit WODs (he received his Crossfit Level 1 Coaching Certification) and calisthenics, yoga became the common thread that he found kept his body and mind sound. He realized early on that this yoga asana was something that prepared him for just about anything.  His dedication to yoga drove Bo to complete a 200 hr RYT certification with Renee Leblanc and YogaWorks. 

He believes that yoga is amazing because it is accessible to all and that there are so many reasons that drive people to practice. Whether it is because you are an athlete looking to get limber, stressed out at work and need to create some mental quietude or need to able-bodied enough to keep up with your active kids, there is something in yoga for everyone. It is in this spirit that he and his wife, Lisa, founded Yoga Nova.

Natalia was introduced to yoga in 2012 upon completing her Masters in in Health Promotion Management. Graduating from college and the pressure to find a job was often overwhelming. Yoga offered a sanctuary from the anxiety that would at times leave her crippled. Her new hobby quickly turned into habit, and she soon found herself practicing every day. The transformative tools yoga offered lead her to complete the 200-hr certification with the Boston Yoga School in 2016 under the guidance of Ame Wren and Brenna Matthews. She remains deeply grateful for the continued mentorship of her many teachers and is ecstatic and humbled by the opportunity to guide others in yoga.



A lifelong health and wellness enthusiast, Sarah has over twenty years of experience teaching group and private fitness classes.  For the past ten years she has been teaching various forms of mind body exercise, throughout the Boston area and has taught yoga internationally at Ashiyana Yoga Retreat Centre in Goa, India.  Sarah’s 200 hour Yoga Alliance Certified Training is attributed to Rolf Gates and, currently, she is studying towards her 500 hour E-RYT certification at Prajna Yoga, with Tias and Surya Little.  She has also studied with many other talented teachers throughout the United States and has, most recently obtained a Pre-Natal Yoga Certification with Jacci Gruninger through Pranakriya Yoga.  Teaching pre-natal and infant-parent yoga has a special place in her heart right now as Sarah is a mother to a beautiful, toddler daughter.

Sarah has a passion for cooking healthy, delicious food as a means to not only nourish the body but also as a way to savor life.  From farm to fork, nose to tail, soup to nuts, she believes it is our birthright to enjoy all foods in harmony and balance. She has completed various classes at the Natural Gourmet Institute for Food & Health in New York City and has completed her certification as a plant-based and raw food chef from Matthew Kenney Culinary in Los Angeles.

Whether demonstrating a pose or developing a menu, Sarah takes a holistic approach to her teaching and counsel.  She invites her clients and students to work with intention in order to reestablish a mind-body connection, urging each to be guided from within.  She provokes an individual experience and personal plan for uncovering one’s unique needs, deepest desires and fullest potential.

Kara, Registered Nurse and Founder of SweetMama Doula, has been practicing and teaching yoga for over a decade. With a focused interest in birth and all aspects of a woman's natal year, she is a Certified Birth Doula (CBD) and a Certified Pranakriya Prenatal Yoga Teacher (CPYT). Kara received her birth and postpartum doula training from Certified Professional Midwife, Michelle L'Esperance of Warm Welcome Birth Services in Northampton, Mass. From 2010-2011 Kara was a prenatal yoga apprentice under Kat Whitney after which she completed her prenatal teaching certification at Kripalu. Kara holds a Bachelor of Arts in Photojournalism & Magazine Writing from Emerson College in Boston and studied documentary photography at the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies in Portland, Maine. She earned her Bachelors of Science in Nursing at Simmons College in Boston and is currently working as a Registered Nurse. Fascinated by the commonalities of journalism, birth work, and yoga, she finds joy and fulfillment in the creative process of witnessing a story, watching the action unfold in real time, and calling upon her keenest observation skills. Kara is passionate about empowering women on their journey into motherhood and welcoming babies into this world.

Stephanie's passion for yoga began in 2010- and she hasn't looked back since. She has completed two 200 hour training programs with Jen Ryan of the Yoga Loft. In 2015 she completed her 500 RYT with Kristin Olson of Home Yoga. Believing you can never have too much knowledge, Stephanie regularly attends workshops and intensives from some of the yoga community's most prestigious teachers. She also has had the pleasure of assisting the 2016-17 TT program at the Yoga Loft and is looking forward to assisting in programs to come. Stephanie is working towards completing her personal training certification to be able to offer her students more. Having struggled with her weight most of her life, Stephanie looks forward to being able to inspire others to make lasting change for themselves. 

Stephanie creates a warm and welcoming environment by injecting her light hearted sense of humor and positive energy into every class. Her classes are thoughtfully sequenced with emphasis on alignment and mindful movement. You can expect a challenging, but fun class that often includes good tunes. She thrives to help her students find strength they didn't know they had and to explore their capabilities by moving beyond what's comfortable. She believes that if it doesn't challenge you it wont change you. Everyday is an opportunity to explore and learn something about ourselves. She strives to help her students see new possibilites and step out of their comfort zone to promote growth, gain confidence and trust in their bodies. She encourages them to shift their minds perspective to bolster inner peace and well-being. 



I walked into my first yoga class in 2004, after experiencing some personal losses as well as being in constant physical pain from injuries sustained in a car accident 10 years prior. Looking back on that first class, I can now see how dramatically that class changed my life! It set me on a path that has ultimately healed much of my own personal trauma and granted me the amazing opportunity to help others on their own path of self-healing.

My yoga training originally focused on a vinyasa-flow style, influenced by the Astanga system, but as I sought to more deeply heal anxiety and depression, life directed me to Restorative Yoga, Trauma-Sensitive Yoga, and Yoga for Warriors trainings. Along with yoga training, I hold certifications in various energy healing techniques, such as Usui Reiki (Master / Teacher), Arcturian Healing (Level IV), and many quantum healing techniques.

So, what does all of that really mean? It translates to my classes being intuitively guided in the moment, as I respond to the vibrational energy of the class, therefore all classes are unique. My intention, as a teacher and healer, is to offer guidance and assistance in helping your journey be a little lighter.


Jayne has been a fitness enthusiast her whole life. With undergraduate studies in dance at Boston Conservatory of Music, and a Masters of Public Health, she has been in the wellness/health promotion industry for twenty plus years. She has been practicing pilates for the past fifteen years and more recently was inspired to become a certified Balanced Body instructor. While vacationing in Jamaica, she took a mat class on the beach that convinced her to pursue her dream; to inspire others to keep their bodies and minds fit through every decade. Jayne’s class challenges her students’ deep core, balance, and flexibility and is suitable for any fitness level.
